Xavier Rombaut

XAVIER ROMBAUT [1980] gratuated with a Master degree in political sciences from the University of Ghent. Concerning film and television producing, he is an autodidact.

After a carreer in event management, he started to work in 2005 as a freelance employee for several film and television production companies. For television, he specialized in oversea shootings. For film, he worked on different projects as a producer and production manager: CineNoordZuid (‘Zonder Jou'), Minds Meet (‘Kain' and ‘Lost Persons Area') and Visualantics (‘Nighthawks').

In 2007, he founded EMERALD FILMS, a emerging production company that focuses on short films. By now, two shorts have been produced: ‘El camino del Deseo' by Eva Cools and 'Venus vs Me' by Nathalie Teirlinck. The latter has been selected for the Berlinale Shorts 2010. At the moment, EMERALD FILMS is developing two new projects: ‘Las Meninas' by Eva Cools and ‘OverLeven' by Wim De Moor.

At SAVAGE FILM, he is working on Co(te)lette as line producer. Co(te)lette is an adaptation of a play by Ann Van den Broeck, directed by Mike Figgis.
