02/03/2017 International Premiere Le Passé Devant Nous (Past Imperfect)

Director Nathalie Teirlinck will present her feature debut at Cinequest in the category 'Life'. This section shows dramatic films which reveal life as people live it around the world.

This will also be both the international premiere of Le Passé Devant Nous (Past Imperfect) and the US premiere.

Le Passé Devant Nous is still showing at several Belgian cinemas, more info on:

08/02/2017 Le Passé Devant Nous (Past Imperfect) in Belgian cinemas from February 8th!

The first feature by Nathalie Teirlinck (award-winning short Venus vs. Me), 'Le Passé devant Nous', tells the touching but heartwarming story of Alice and Robin. Divided between the fear of intimacy and the desire for security, Alice tries to take on her role as a parent. But what does the tie of blood mean in the absence of a shared past? Can love win over fear? A deeply human portrait of two lost souls, of the destabilizing but also tender battle to find each other and oneself.

When Alice's ex-boyfriend dies in a car accident, she's unexpectedly confronted with her six-year-old son, whom she had abandoned at birth. His presence not only threatens her routine existence as a luxury escort but also exposes strongly suppressed emotions. Doubt strikes again. Will she be able to be a mother this time?

18/10/2016 'Grands Travaux' in Belgian cinemas from January 17th

The new film by Olivia Rochette & Gerard-Jan Claes (ref. 'Rain), 'Grands travaux', is set in the Institute Anneessens-Funck, a Dutch-speaking vocational school in the centre of Brussels where young students have come to learn a trade. The film both documents and stages that which gives shape to their lives: the practical assignments and classes at school, football, the oscillation of their love lives, as well as the ongoing search for housing and employment. Depicting daily life within the school walls, Grands travaux also aims to sketch an image of Brussels today, placing its youngsters at the very centre.

08/07/2015 D'Ardennen opent 42ste Film Festival Gent !

PERSBERICHT – Brussel, 8 juli 2015

Korte inhoud : Een brutale homejacking gaat hopeloos fout.

Last Hijack, an interactive documentary produced by Submarine Channel and co-produced by Savage Film, won an Emmy Award for best online production in the non-fiction category in Cannes last night.

Last Hijack Interactive is an online documentary, allowing the viewer to experience the hijack of a ship in Somali waters, switching at will between the perspective of the Somali pirate and the English captain who is kidnapped.

Last Hijack consists of a film and an online production, directed by Femke Wolting and Tommy Pallotta. The film premiered at the Berlinale earlier this year and has been shown at festivals all over the world. This Submarine production is now being shown in the United States, both in cinemas and on iTunes, Netflix and many other Video on Demand platforms. The online documentary has already won international awards, including the Prix Europa.

Interactive documentary
Experience the dark world of piracy in Somalia through the eyes of a pirate and a captain. The pirate and the captain talk about their experiences, but their family, journalists, lawyers and negotiators both in Somalia and in the West also talk about the rise and fall of Somali piracy. 09/12/2014 GARDENIA in cinemas in Belgium

Savage Film is releasing 'GARDENIA - Before the last Curtain Falls' in Belgian cinema's in January!

The film dives deeply into the exceptional and heart-warming
stories of a group of transsexuals and drag queens in their
sixties and seventies, who summon up their bravery to take
the stage once again – perhaps for the last time. Belgium’s
pre-imminent choreographer Alain Platel and “wizard”
stage director Frank Van Laecke collaborate to turn the cast
member’s lives into movement. What was supposed to be a
limited run in some selected theatres unexpectedly became
a huge international success, playing over 200 shows in 25
countries. For two years the protagonists have been touring
five continents, performing a spectacular dance, theatre
and music show called “Gardenia”.
Now the show is coming to a close and the artists are
coming home to a time of introspection, a re-evaluation of
choices made, of lives lived and possible futures. The cast
has been through it all.

RELEASE of GARDENIA - BEFORE THE LAST CURTAIN FALLS on the 14th of January in the following Belgian cinemas:

Aventure (Brussel)
Studio Skoop (Gent)
Cinema Zed (Leuven)
